Introduction

On the recto of this papyrus are the remains of three columns of a Christian letter from Rome (=TM 14264, P.Amh. 1.3a). The papyrus contains two other passages from the Bible transcribed here, as TM 62312. At the top of recto, col. 2 is a part of the first verse of the epistle to the Hebrews (P.Amh. 1.3b). The verso contains Genesis 1.1-5 in the version of the LXX and Aquila (P.Amh. 1.3c).

Notes

  • 8.

After σκότους the scribe omits καὶ ἐκάλεσεν ... νύκτα. So too in l. 15.

  • 14.

The traces before διεχ[ do not suit καὶ.

  • 15.

As in l. 8, after σκότους the scribe omits καὶ ἐκάλεσεν ... νύκτα.
