Note (general) | Ostracon, fragment of the rim and body of a large red pottery bowl with slightly convex sides and an everted and grooved rim, the fabric is relatively coarse and black in section, traces of a thin light-brown slip on the interior, the exterior is decorated with a band of painted dark-brown semi-circles, over-painted with off-white spots, with off-white semi-circles beneath and slashes between, with remains of eight lines of Coptic text written in black ink on the exterior, containing a list of names. |
