Charonion, son of Nilos, about 28 years old, with a scar on the right thumb, acknowledges to Patron, son of Tryphon, about 30 years old, with a scar on the left knee, that he has received from him at once 400 silver drachmai as earnest money not subject to recovery of a sum of 1540 silver drachmai, the price fixed for the catoecic allotment belonging to Charonion, near Kerkousiris in the division of Polemon, consisting of 10 arourai, or however many they may be, in one parcel, and all the appurtenances, having as boundaries on the south, north, and west a dyke, and on the east the allotment of Hermodoros, son of Herodes, upon condition that Charonion, if he receives from Patron the remainder of the price of 1540 silver drachmai by the eighteenth of the month Drousilleios of the present year, shall cede it to Patron or whomever he may choose, through whatever offices they may choose, and shall complete the documents which are due to him and whomever he may choose through the catoecic bureau for transfer of title and cession of control, as is proper, and Charonion himself and his heirs shall guarantee the cession to Patron and whomever he may choose and his heirs with every guarantee from all public taxes, the artabia and naubion and arithmetikon and every public tax, of former times up to the present 2nd year of Tiberius Caesar Augustus Germanicus Imperator and of the 2nd year itself, and from private dues and all claims and other sorts of obligations for all time, and shall give surety.;The rest in conformity.
