Inv. Id | P.Mich.inv. 447 |
Support/Dimensions | 1 papyrus ; 10.2 x 17.2 cm. |
Condition | This scrap of papyrus has a dark brown color and it is of a good quality; almost regularly cut at the left and right sides; although the text runs from the left to right edges, no letters are missing. The papyrus has margin only at the bottom. It is badly damaged at the middle to the left and broken off at the bottom; small fragment of ca. 3.2 x 4.6 cm is broken away from bottom. There are many perforations at several places, especially at the middle. Some fibers are still folded or misaligned. |
Lines | 11 |
Recto/Verso | Source of description: Recto+Verso |
Hands | Written along the fibers in large uncial letters; the hand is very slow and not practiced; it used a very thick nib with black ink. The scribe occasionally dips the pen into the inkwell, which makes the letter looses its shape (only one case, cf. delta Line 9). The interlinear spaces are even of ca. 0.7 cm. No diacritical marks, Paragraphos accentuations are attested. Verso is blank except for couple dots of ink. |
