Title Letter Mentioning the Fayyum

Summary letter of N��jid b. Muslim to ìAbd All��h b. Asìad deals with several tax related issues, possibly involving taxes paid in kind. N��jid asks ìAbd All��h to send him someone, possibly the same person responsible for the tax-collection (of sheep?) in a village and a hayyiz he refers to later in his letter. N��jid mentions that he has sent draft animals (daww��b) to ìAbd All��h perhaps to transport the taxes, and he asks ìAbd All��h to hand over the taxes in one payment. Condition Light brown papyrus. The original cutting lines have been preserved on the left and bottom sides only. Written with a medium pen in black ink which is badly faded in most places, perpendicular to the fibers on Recto. The top and right sides are broken off and there are many small worm holes in the papyrus.
