The document is probably some kind of contract for work. Perhaps somebody was hiring workmen from another person. The mention of children may point to slaves and their offspring. Buildings and horses were also involved. Patrikios, who was evidently the son of Ailianos, is mentioned.

Called the verso of a small double-sided roll, because it was found on the roll’s exterior side. Two margins partly extant: left (at least 1 cm) and bottom (4 cm). The main hand is a clear, experienced cursive, only slighty sloping to the right. The second hand, which is obviously the only subscription, appears reasonably practiced as well, but favors capital letters more often. Reproduced in plates CLV Field no.
