Inv. Id | P. O.I. 17624 |
Support/Dimensions | papyrus ; 21.0 x 7.5 cm |
Condition | Medium quality brown papyrus fragment of two folios. Reconstruction of text and allowance for lost margins would bring the width of the page to about 19.5-20 cm. About two-thirds of the text of each page is lost. |
Lines | On recto: 2 columns of 19-20 lines each in Arabic; On verso: 2 columns of 19-20 lines each in Arabic |
Recto/Verso | Source of description: On recto and verso: Story of Adam and Eve |
Hands | Small cursive book hand of fair execution. An unusual number of letters are pointed at least once. There is little that is remarkable about the individual forms of the letters themselves, except for ''dal'' and ''dhal.'' The small size of these two letters together with a marked final curve to the right tend to give them the appearance of a final ta' marbutah. The circle with a dot inside is used for punctuation. |
