The hypothesis by William A. Johnson (2004, p. 277, cf. also 1992, p. 57) that a mese stigme after ἄνδρε]ς marked the change of speaker is not confirmed by the direct exam of the papyrus, which does not reveal any punctuation (cf. Carlini 1999, pp. 139-140). As proposed by Peter Parsons in the editio princeps (p. 83), in the left margin a paragraphos (suggested also by Johnson together with the middle dot) could have stressed the change of speaker.

The text preserved by the mss is τὴν ἀρετὴν ἣν αὐτοὶ ἀγαθοὶ (oἱ ἀγαθοὶ T) ἦσαν ἠπίσταντο (in F ἀρετὴν...ἦσαν was supplied by f). As noted by Peter Parsons in the editio princeps (pp. 83-84), since the resulting text seems too long (36 letters in the line), maybe something was omitted by the scribe. At line 20 an oblique stroke, descending from left to right, above the first τ could have marked a dislocation (cf. Parsons 1968, p. 84; Carlini 1999, pp. 140-141).

In the editio princeps Peter Parsons noticed "above ω̣ an ink-mark, perhaps a very prolonged serif on hypsilon of 21 το[υτο" (p. 84).
