Introduction
Medical treatise. Fragment (4.5 x 19.4 cm) of a papyrus roll preserving on the recto remains of 39 lines arranged in a single column of writing (verso is blank). The left portion is severely damaged; the broken top bottom margin is extant to a width of 2 cm, and the bottom margin to a width of 4.3 cm. The text contains some general prescriptions about regimen in connection with specific diseases (epilepsy, paralysis, intestinal spasm, hepatic or splenic disorders) and promotes solutions to achieve a healthy balance between nutrition and physical activity. The papyrus was copied in a neat and semi-cursive hand of small size assignable to the 1st cent. AD.
