Introduction

Medical prescriptions. Very small fragment (6 x 4 cm) of a papyrus codex. The piece preserves scanty remains of 13 lines written on both sides by the same hand. There is a significant amount of blank space on the verso, suggesting the lines were of different lengths. A diaeresis occurs at l. 6. The brevity of this fragment makes the positive determination of its meaning difficult, but the terminology employed speaks in favour of an attribution to medical prose. The text is drawn up in a medium-sized, semi-cursive hand assignable to the 5th cent. AD.
