Ἡρώιδης Ζηνικέτης Ζήν[ωνι χαίρειν. τοῦ δεῖνά τινος τῶν οἰκ]ούντων ἐν τῶι Ἰβιῶνι ἀπῆκται
ὁ υἱὸς ὑπὸ Ἄνδρωνος τοῦ παρʼ ὑμῖν φ[υλακίτου, ὁ δὲ ἀποδιδούς σοι] τὴν ἐπιστολήν ἐστιν τοῦ κατε-
χομένου ἀδελφός. καλῶς οὖν ποιή[σεις μάλιστα μὲν συντάξας] διέσθαι τὸν νεανίσκον ἐκ τῆς
φυλακῆς, εἰ δὲ μή γε, διεγγυήσα[ς αὐτὸν - ca.15 -]  ̣ι̣σ̣τος ὅπως μὴ συμβῆι αὐτὸν

(Recto);;Heroides and Zeniketes to Zenon [greeting]. The son [of . . ., who is one of the] inhabitants(?) of Ibion, has been arrested by Andron the [guard] from your village, and the bearer of the letter is a brother of the detained person. Kindly then [give orders, if possible], to release the youth from prison, of, if not, put him on bail [. . .], in order that it may not happen that he perish in prison. [And write to us if you have need of anything] here, as we shall be glad to do your will. Farewell. . . .;;(Verso);;To Zenon.
