Ἁρμιῦσις Πετεσούχου Πέρσης τῆς ἐπιγονῆς ὁμολογῶι(*) παρέξεσθαι ἐμαυτὸν
ἐφʼ(*) ἔτη δύο ἀπὸ τοῦ προκιμένου χρόνου διατρίβοντα καὶ ποιοῦντα πάντα
τὰ ἐπιτασσόμενα καὶ ὑφαίνοντα(*) οὗ ἐὰν βούληται ὁ προγεγραμμένος Ἥρω-
ν Ἁρυώτου καθʼ ἡμέραν ἕκαστον ἀνθʼ ὧν καὶ αὐτὸς ὁ Ἥρων διαγράψι(*) ὑπὲρ ἐ-
5μοῦ ἐπὶ τὸν προκίμενον χρόνον καθʼ ἔτος(*) τὴν ὑπὲρ ἐμοῦ ἐπὶ κόμης(*) Τεβ-
τύνεως λαικὴν σύνταξιν καὶ γερδιακὸν τὸ ὑπὲρ ἐμοῦ τέλεσμα καὶ δαπανη(*)
καὶ ἐπιτρίτου καὶ χωματήας(*) ἔργου(*) καὶ βαλαινευτικοῦ(*) τέλεσμα καὶ κρήνης καὶ
εἰς λόγον μετρήματος ἐπὶ τὸν αὐτὸν προκίμενον χρόνον κατὰ μῆνα ἕκαστον
πυροῦ ἀρτάβην μίαν μέτρῳ τετραχοινίκωι Τεβτύνεως καὶ εἰς λόγον ἱματισ-
10μοῦ καὶ ἐλαίου καθʼ(*) ἔτος ἀργυρίου δραχμὰς ἴκοσι(*) ὀκτώι(*) , οὐ γινόμενος δὲ ἀφήμερος
ἀπὸ τ̣ῶ̣ν̣ τ̣ο̣ῦ̣ Ἥρωνος ἀλλὰ καὶ συνακλουθῶν(*) αὐτῶι κατὰ τὸν νόμον πανταχῆι.
ἧς δὲ ἡμέρας {ἧς} ἐὰν μὴ παραμείνωι(*) ἐκτίσω(*) τῷ Ἥρωνι ἀργυρίου δραχμὰς δύο ,
καὶ ἕκαστα ποήσω(*) καθὼς πρόκιται. ἔγραψεν ὑπὲρ αὐτοῦ Σαραπίων Πτολεμαίου
διὰ τὸ μὴ εἰδέναι αὐτὸν γράμματα. (hand 2) Ἥρων Ἁρυώτου γέγοναι(*) εἴς μαι(*) ἡ ὁμολο-

APIS Translation (English)

I, Harmiysis, son of Petesouchos, a Persian of the epigone, agree that for two years from the aforesaid time I will present myself to work and do everything that is ordered, and to weave whatever the said Heron, son of Haryotes, wishes every day, in return for which the said Heron shall pay in my behalf for the aforesaid period of time, annually, the poll tax in the village of Tebtynis and the weaver's tax and my expenses and the surtax of one third and the work on the enbankments and the bath tax and the tax on fountains, and on account of payments in kind over the aforesaid period of time, monthly, one artab of wheat measured by the four-choinix measure of Tebtynis, and on account of clothing and oil, annually, twenty-eight drachmai of silver. And I will not absent myself by day from Heron's establishment, but will accompany him all over the nome. And for each day that I do not remain with him, I will pay to Heron two drachmai of silver, and I will do everything as aforesaid. Sarapion, son of Ptolemaios, wrote for him because he is illliterate.;(2nd hand) Heron, son of Haryotes. The agreement was made with me as aforesaid.
