APIS Translation (English)

The seventh year of the Emperor Caesar Nerva Trajan Augustus Germanicus Dacicus, the seventh of the month of Sebastos, in Kerkesoucha in the division of Herakleides of the Arsinoite nome. Ammonios, son of Severus, about 30 years old, with a scar above his left eyebrow, from Nilopolis in the Herakleopolite nome, acknowledges to Gaius Valerius Longus, discharged from military service in the legion, about 47 years old, with a scar on his left eyebrow, that he has sold to him a male donkey colt that has not shed its first teeth, mouse-colored, not subject to rejection. The acknowledging party has received as the price two hundred and eighty drachmai of silver in full from hand to hand. He guarantees. Signatories are, of the acknowledging party, Straton, son of Kleon; of the other, Diodoros, son of Apollonios.;(2nd hand) I, Ammonios, son of Severus, have sold as aforesaid.
