Ἁτρῆ ἀπὸ κώμης Κερανίδος(*)
Αὐγηλίᾳ Κουτίνᾳ Ἠλία ἀπὸ τῆς Ἀρσι-
νοιτῶν πόλεως ἔχειν τὸν(*) ὁμολογοῦν-
5τον(*) σίτου σὺν ἡμιωλίας(*) ἀρτάβας ἐννήα(*)
(ἀρτάβας) θ ἅσπερ ἐπάναγκον ἀποδώσω
τῇ προθεσμίᾳ μηνὶ Παῦνι τῆς ἐνεστώ-
σης τρίτης ἰνδικτίονος τὼ(*) γένος
νέων(*) καθαρὼν(*) ἄδολων(*) εὐάρεστον
10ἀνυπερθέτως καὶ ἐπὶ τῆς ἀπετήσεως(*)
γένεσθαι(*) τῇ(*) Κ[ο]υτίνᾳ τῆς(*) πράξεως(*)
ἔκ τε το͂ν(*) ὁμολογούντον(*) ἢ κὲ(*) ἐκ το͂ν(*)

APIS Translation (English)
Aurelia Tetoueis daughter of Hatres, inhabitant of the village of Karanis, acknowledges to Aurelia Koutina daughter of Elias, inhabitant of the city of Arsinoë, that the acknowledging party has received nine artabs (9 art.) of wheat including interest of one-half, which I will perforce repay without delay on the appointed day in the month of Payni of the current third indiction, in quality fresh from the harvest, free from dirt, unadulterated, and acceptable, and that on formal demand Koutina is to have the right of execution both upon the acknowledging parties and also upon all his property just as if in accordance with a legal judgment, and on formal interrogation I have acknowledged it. In the 4th consulship of our lords Valentinianus and Valens, the eternal Augusti. I, Aurelia Tetoueis, have received the nine artabs—including interest of one-half—of wheat, and I will repay on the appointed day as aforestated.
