Αὐρήλι̣ο̣ι̣ Π̣τολλᾶς καὶ Ἀτῖσις σιτολόγοι
ἤται(*) ἀπαιτηταὶ κωμωμητῶν(*) κώμης
Καραν̣ί̣δ̣ος Αὐρηλίῳ Ἀντιοῦρι Πτολλᾶ χ̣έ̣ρ̣ιν(*).
ἔσχον παρά σου ὑπὲρ δεκάτης ι ἰντι(κτίονος)(*)
5ὑπὲρ ν̣αῦλα(*) θαλασίον(*) τάλαντα πεντή-
κοντα ἓξ (τάλαντα) νϛ μώνα(*). (hand 2) Αὐρήλιος

1  Aurelii Ptollas and Atisis, sitologoi likewise apaitetai of the villagers of the village of Karanis, to Aurelius Antiouris son of Ptollas, greeting. I have received from you for (your obligation of) the tenth (10th) indiction for sea freight, fifty-six talents (tal. 56), total. 6  (2nd hand) I, Aurelius Melas, wrote for him because he is illiterate.
