1  [NN to Kleon, greetings.] I have sent you [a copy of the letter which Thra]syllos [has written to us]. 5  The sluice gate has to be opened so that the land in Theogenis may be irrigated as quickly as possible. Farewell.
8  Thrasyllos to [NN], greetings.

Because the water from the great canal coming from the locks in Ptolemais flows through slowly, I have diverted it to the desert canal [...]. 13  In the great canal the [...] beneath two/by two [...] in Ptolemais has been opened and what is now flowing through, is not sufficient for me. 17  Please, write immediately to Kleon to [...].
