As I urged your admirableness, make haste to secure for me, on account of two solidi which I had given to you, wine at the rate of not less than 45 pint measures for each solidus, and with all the care either send to me a boat going into the city so that I send down the empty (jars) or buy . . . I hold the price of wine be the same as to what [l. 5] the most admirable Hypation told us . . . receives the empty jars and, with Lord, brings to me or sends . . . Serenos your slave. [verso] Give to my master the most admirable and virtuous brother Theodoros, assistant, from Diogenes.
