Pachon (blank), in the splendid and most splendid [city of Oxyrhynchites, before Aurelius Agathinus
alias Horigenes,] concessionary of the notarial office.
4 [Aurelius Theon, chief priest and councillor] of the splendid [and] most splendid
[city] of Oxyrhynchites, [son of Theon, former agoranomus of the same city, has purchased
in the street from] Aurelia Rhodine, freedwoman of [the citizen] Eudaemonis daughter
of S–on, [about 42 years old, acting without a guardian according to Roman custom]
by virtue of the ius liberorum, with as her assistant [and co-guarantor of the following slave her] husband [Aurelius
Heraclas alias Diogenes son of D–, former … of the] same city, mother Maxima, from
the same city, the slave [belonging to her] and conveyed to her through the notarial
office here [in the nth year of the reign of Aurelianus in the month Hathyr by her former and deceased]
husband Aurelius Horion son of Anicetus, [former gymnasiarch and councillor of the
same city, in repayment of four talents of silver which he received] from her [in
instalments] for his pressing needs [and which came from the sale of her feminine]
goods. 11 She is called Stratonice, [about 27 years old, with no distinguishing mark, and was
formally examined as] indicated [in the previous contract]. The buyer [Aurelius Theon]
has forthwith received [the slave Stratonice free from epilepsy and] leprosy at the
price [mutually] agreed upon [for the aforementioned slave Stratonice], seven talents
[and two thousand seven hundred drachmas of silver of Imperial] coinage, [which the
seller Rhodine has received on the spot in full] from the buyer Theon [under the supervision
