Condition The left side of the papyrus has been lost in consequence of a break along a vertical fold, and an uneven break along the bottom has produced a less serious loss.

Recto/Verso Source of description: Recto
Hands The document is a chirograph, written throughout in the hand of the person who makes the acknowledgement. The script used on the papyrus is decidedly amateurish. The letters are large but look drawn rather than written. The writer experienced difficulty in imposing a uniform shape on individual letters and was unable, despite obvious effort, to maintain a straight line. He was, however, not without pretension to elegance. Above the text is a magnificently broad margin of 3.8 cm., and a right margin 1.5 - 2.3 cm. has been painstakingly plotted.

I acknowledge that I bring no charge [against you and shall not] take action against you in any way, nor [is it permitted to me to raise objections concerning the] property [of our mother. . . ] the daughter of Ploutarchos, which you will manage or indeed alienate [as you wish, and . . .] I have given my approval to the [terms of the agreement as they have been fixed because] I have received satisfaction from you, Tamaron, [and I bring no charge concerning any] matter, whether put in writing or not, [up to the present day]. And if I transgress any of these terms, I shall pay [to you as penalty] two hundred drachmas in silver, and to the [fiscus an equal amount].
