κλείδου μερίδος τοῦ Ἀρσινοείτου νομοῦ
Ἑρμειᾶτι Διδύμου τοῦ Ἑρμείου
5Σωσικοσμίῳ τῷ καὶ Ἀλθαιεῖ χαίρειν.
ὁμολογῶ ἔχειν παρὰ σοῦ παρα-
θήκην ἀργυρίου δραχμὰς ἑκατὸν
τεσσεράκοντα(*) {ἐν παραθήκῃ}
ἀκίνδυνον, ἃς καὶ ἀποκατασ-
10τήσω σοι ὁπηνίκα ἐὰν αἱρῇς

APIS Translation (English)

Valerius also called Heron, son of Dioskoros, of the village of Karanis in the Herakleides division of the Arsinoite nome, to Hermias, son of Didymos, grandson of Hermias, of the Sosicosmian tribe and the Althaean deme, greeting. I acknowledge that I have received from you a deposit of one hundred and forty silver drachmai guaranteed against risk, which I will return to you whenever you wish. You shall have the right of execution on my person and all my property, as if in accordance with a legal decision. Let this chirograph, written by me in a single copy, be valid wherever it is produced, as if it were filed in a public record-office.;(2nd hand) Year 10 of Antoninus Caesar, the lord, Armeniacus Medicus Parthicus Maximus . . .
