Διονύσιος τοῖς ἐν οἴκω[ι] χαίρειν. ἕως τούτου ἔρ<ρω>μαι καὶ
ὁ ὑός. ὑμεῖς δ̣ὲ̣ μαλακία[ι] μηθὲν ἐνδῶτε, ἀλλὰ ἀπόσ-
τειλόν τινα καὶ ἔντειλαι Μαρακάτῃ· τὸ μονόξ-
{  ̣}υλο\ν/ ἄμμου ἐνέπλησα. ἐξεράσας μετέωρον
5αὐτὸ ἀνασπασάτω, ὡς πλὴν ἐκείνου ἐλπὶς
οὐδεμία ἐστίν. καὶ κριθῶν εἰσιν παρὰ Ποσσικρ[ά-]
τηι μέδιμνοι ἐννέα. ἔρρωται δὲ καὶ

1  Dionysios sends his greetings to the household. Until now I am in good health and so is the son. You should in no way give in to weakness, but dispatch someone and instruct Marakates, (that) I loaded the boat with sand. After emptying (the boat) he should haul it up high, since except for this there is no hope. 6  And there are nine medimnoi of barley with Possikrates. Possikrates is in good health. Receive from the Thoapsoi (?) a half-stater after returning the cloth. (Translation: B. Awianowicz, ZPE 178 (2011) 238)

1  Dionisio saluda a los de casa. De momento me encuentro bien y mi hijo también. Pero vosotros no cedáis al desánimo, sino que envía tú a alguien y encarga a Maracate lo siguiente: yo he llenado de arena la canoa; que él, tras vaciarla, la saque a tierra suspendida en el aire, ya que sin eso no hay esperanza alguna. 6  Hay además nueve medimnos de cebada en casa de Posicrates.
