- 2015-11-02T13:59:59-05:00 [pheilpor]: Vote - AcceptText - After having a good look at l. 23, I think that indeed, the kappa looks more like a beta and, furthermore, that the letter before that looks more like alpha or epsilon rather than omicron. Therefore I would suggest reading here Σε̣β̣( ), scil. for Σε̣β̣(εννῦτον), another Arsinoite village. This has been discussed by mail with Rodney Ast and (through him) with Holger Essler, and both agree with this reading.
- 2015-10-15T11:28:21-04:00 [simoeis]: Vote - AcceptText - Changes to col. i, line 9 and col. ii lines 8 and 10 seem fine. The proposal for l. 23 is nice and would make good sense given the Arsinoite origin of the document, but there are a couple of things that require consideration. The first concerns paleography: the third letter, which is printed as beta in the edition, does look much like beta; kappas elsewhere are more pointed at the base, although that in [δ]έκα in col. i, 24 bears some resemblance. The second issue is the village name. Neither κώμην (or just the article τὴν) nor Νη/ are written. We might understand κώμην and presume that the abbreviation covered Νήσου (it's omission is not unprecedented, cf. BGU 3 762.1), but the balance of these concerns might encourage us to give ἰς (l. εἰς) <κώμην> Σοκ̣(νοπαίου Νήσου) or ἰς (l. εἰς) Σοκ̣(νοπαίου Νῆσον) as an alternate reading. Next voter?
