P.Mich. 5 305 (P.Mich. 5 305)  Vote AcceptText - The proposed corrections have been checked against the original. All are certainly correct with the exception of Z. 15: κοινωνικῆς → κοινωνικοῖς, where I would retain the ed.pr.'s κοινωνικῆς. I see a y-shaped eta, similar to that of τιμήν (l. 13), although elsewhere in the text the h-shaped eta indeed prevails. January 29, 2014 17:33
P.Mich. 5 323/324/325qrpl (P.Mich. 5 323/324/325qrpl)  Vote AcceptText - This text exists in three full copies (P.Mich. V 323, P.Mich. V 324, and PSI VIII 903) and one copy preserving the 1st and 3rd subscriptions (P.Mich. V 325). Only P.Mich. V 323 was published in full, with differences from the other copies selectively noted in the commentary. The corrections proposed here all concern the prototype, 323, and I can confirm that they are all correct after consulting the original. I also report the readings from the other Michigan copies. line 5: Ἀραβαρχης → Ἀραβαραχης. This reading is found in 323, while 324 has Ἀραβάρχης. line 26: τὰ δ’ ὁμολογημένα → τὰ διομολογημένα (l. διωμολογημένα). This reading is found in both 323 and 324. line 29: τὸ → τὼι (l. τὸ). This reading appears in 323, 324, and 325. line 29: Ἁρυώτης → Ἁρυώτη (l. Ἁρυώτης). Found in 323 and 324, while 325 has Ἁρυώτης Ἡρωδίωνος (omega for omicron). line 32: τὸ → τὼ (l. τὸ). Found in 323, while 324 has τὸ. line 32: προγεγραμμένον → πρωγεγραμμένον (l. προγεγραμμένον). Found in 323, while 324 has προ-. line 34: τὸ → τοῦ. Yes, τοῦ is found in 323, 324, and 325. line 35: τὸ → τὼ (l. τὸ). Found in 323 and 325, while 324 has τὸ. January 31, 2014 20:25
P.Mich. 5 329/330dupl (P.Mich. 5 329/330dupl)  Vote AcceptText - line 4: τόποι → τώποι (l. τόποι). This reading is found on both copies. line 11: ἄλλον → ἄλλην. The eta is clear on the original (329; this section not preserved in 330). January 31, 2014 20:43
PSI 8 903dupl (PSI 8 903dupl)  Vote AcceptText - I endorse what the previous voters have said and add the following: The line numbers need to be corrected: ll. 28-29 in the DDBDP should be only l. 28, then l. 30 is actually l. 29, etc. l. 27: agreed, the editor's α̣ὐ̣τ̣ὸ̣ is not convincing. The Michigan copies don't have anything similar in this position. At the end of P.Mich. V 323.29, after εἰς τὸ, there is a short horizontal that begins with a point. This could just be a filler stroke, but notice the short, horizontal stroke above πρόκειται at PSI VIII 903.28 (l. 29 in DDBDP). I think in both cases this is a paragraphos marking where the subscription should be written. In the PSI example, the writer let his subscription wander a full line above this mark, while in the Michigan example, the writer's first line comes up to meet this mark. I don't see this mark on 324 or 325. In this posiiton of the text in 324 and 325, moreover, there is no extra writing. Going back to the PSI text, there clearly is something written after τὼ. Perhaps τὼι̣ (dotted iota) is better, but even this doesn't get rid of all those strokes. The up and down curves at the end (before ἐπιβάλλων) look like how nu is written in ἐπιβάλλων. The one (?) letter before could be any number of things, if not the iota adscript. I would dot two letters and editorially cancel them from the text (not scribal deletion) on the strength of the parallels. January 31, 2014 21:37

SB 22 15266 (SB 22 15266)  Vote AcceptText - checked on original; looks good. Diaeresis over iota of Ἰωάννης should be added. April 21, 2014 14:42

P.Louvre 2 98 (SoSOL 2014 182)  Vote AcceptWithModification - the literal translation of ll. 5-6 is awkward. Since relative clause with future can denote purpose, I'd translate "...that you send NN, one of your sword bearers, to bring him before you." May 24, 2015 13:13
BGU 8 1778 (SoSOL 2014 181)  Vote AcceptWithModification - 7-8: "and to present Lysanias, son of Archelaos ..." "stand" is too literal for καταστῆσαι. The reading at the end of l. 7 is very suspect (alas, no photo). In any case, I think καταστῆσαι should be dependent on χρηματισμόν (for χρηματισμόν inf. cf. P.Tebt. 3.1 779.9-10) May 24, 2015 13:37

P.Diosk. 5 (SoSOL 2014 172)  Vote AcceptWithModification - 16: "wares" instead of "hides 17-18: "public council hall" goes against editor's remarks based on Wolff Justizwesen that the "κοινὸν συνέδριον war keine ständige Einrichtung, sondern trat nur bei Bedarf zusammen." "in a general tribunal" vel sim. is preferable. verso: the editors translate ἐπίτιμον as "fine" (Strafgeld), though they consider "contraband" a possibility. Perhaps better to stick with ed.'s translation unless clear reasons otherwise. May 24, 2015 14:14
P.Diosk. 9 (SoSOL 2014 171)  Vote AcceptWithModification - 5: "but temporarily staying here" 12ff: "until my husband Peleus arrives and fetches her ..." May 24, 2015 14:27
P.Princ. 2 28 (P.Princ. 2 28)  Vote ReturnToSender - this needs to be entered as a PN correction (see under Leiden Help) rather than a direct change to the text May 24, 2015 14:56
Stud.Pal. 22 98 (Stud.Pal. 22 98)  Vote ReturnToSender - this needs to be entered as a PN correction (see under Leiden Help) rather than a direct change to the text May 24, 2015 14:56
PSI 1 51 (2018/01/12-10.28.06) (PSI 1 51)  Vote AcceptText - I've had a look at the original of SB 22 15759 and compared it with the image of this text. I agree with Gad that they the signatures in question belong to the same hand. The precise reading of the name, however, is difficult. The reading of the ed.pr. can at least be discarded because ed.pr.'s ων is now partly used for the new and certain reading ἀντιγρ(αφεύς). It's worth noting that Bingen only commented on the official's title, not his name, but BL 6.173 reported the correction as "Wohl Ἡρακλείων ἀντιγρ(αφεὺς)" κτλ. As for the reading Ἡρακλείδ(ης) in both texts, I'm a little uncomfortable with the shape of epsilon, particularly its two humps, but can accept it. In the PSI text, I agree with Gad's reading of delta at the end -- there is a clear spot of ink before, and partly overlapping with, the alpha of ἀντιγρ(αφεύς), which I would take as a poorly-formed delta on the strength of the parallel and the commonness of the abbreviation Ἡρακλειδ( ), even if Ἡρακλει( ) is not unknown. As an aside, the Herakleides of SB 16 12299 is not the same man as here, because that text was written about 40 years later and the signature is in a different hand. February 16, 2016 18:02
SB 5 7530 (SB 5 7530)  Vote ReturnToSender - New reading: some justification for corrections should be given (when not obvious). I can see the posited epsilon and final letter as alpha (with narrow belly) is better than epsilon (I would still dot alpha). What ed.pr. took as omicron can be right side of pi. Ed.pr.’s reading, moreover, finds no parallels. Overall, I think the new reading is sound. Notes on comm.: 2: heading is usually quoted from text (as you do in l. 17 n.), so here ἀρχεδεάτρωι. "this Ptolemaic official" --> "this Ptolemaic court official" "imperial" --> "royal" What is the basis for the claim about this official's function? The cited examples and the few others out there don't seem to give a single clue as to what this official did. Are there any pertinent discussions? 4: heading needed b/c not immediately apparent which phrase you're talking about. θεῶν σῳζόντων is a variant of ἐὰν οἱ θεοὶ σῴζωσι, and these are variants of the more common θεῶν θελόντων. Such Insha'Allah phrases do indeed occur in connection with travel -- surely there's some comment on this in one of the studies on papyrus letters. Νothing on the hapax μισθωσίδιον? Are there any attestations outside the papyri? Cf. his other inventive diminutive, νομάριον. Notes on trans.: "chief governor" is misleading. There's no evidence for this official having an executive role. I would stick to the literal "chief taster,” or maybe "chief steward." "I shall sail down under divine protection" makes it sound like he's certain of his divine protection, whereas the participial phrase is most certainly conditional, as the variant ἐὰν οἱ θεοὶ σῴζωσι shows. "small loan matter" --> "the small matter of the lease." I would try to translate the προσ of προσπαρακαλέω: e.g., "In addition, please..." “ from the loan etc.” I think Dionysios was told to advance the remaining sum. It’s Thoth 27 of the new year and Apion is eager to close last year’s account. τὰς λοιπογραφουμένας ... δραχμάς are drachmas “in arrears.” I would translate this sentence as “I wrote to Dionysios to advance at once the 2,900 drachmas remaining in arrears in regard to the total account of the 14th year.” It’d be worth discussing the phrase ἀπ’ εὐχρηστίας in the comm. εὐχρηστέω is certainly a common euphemism for “to lend,” but there are only a couple other attestations of the noun in the papyri, both of which are used in the moral/utilitarian sense. “if you decide to” --> “if it seems best / if you think it fit” “securities of the reserves” isn’t clear to me. alt. translation “And I shall seek a way through difficulties for my part” is too loose. O.Berenike 2 167 (O.Berenike 2 167)  Vote AcceptText - This looks right. I can see the top left, middle bar, and bottom right of proposed theta, along with faint bit of top right. Hard to see as tau, because middle bar would have to be top bar of tau, which is too low and doesn't account for what's above. Does the name need to be regularized, though? April 08, 2016 07:46

SB 14 11892 (SB 14 11892)  Vote AcceptText - sentence periods can be added at end of ll. 4-8 and 13-16. P. Heilporn and A. Martin, P.Pintaudi 25-26, p. 127, n. 15 suggest the following, which I agree with: l. 3 τοῦ αὐ(τοῦ) ἑνδεκάτου (which requires a changed to l. 1) l. 9: ἑνδεκάτου l. 11: τοῦ αὐ(τοῦ) ἑνδεκάτου l. 3 --> Καρα]νίδος (at least that's what Sijp.'s article has and it's clear on the photo) August 16, 2016 11:37
P.Mich. 3 157 (P.Mich. 3 157)  Vote AcceptText - not sure what's going on here -- the second tick was added in 2011 and finalized according to history, but isn't there now. Second tick looks a little odd in preview. August 16, 2016 11:46

P.Mich. 8 477 (2021/08/16-11.33.53) (P.Mich. 8 477)  Vote AcceptText - και̣[ρὸ]ς ἄρτι ἄ[λλ]ός ἐστιν is a better supplement than ed. pr. for reasons of space (the left strip may be a bit too close to fragments to the right, but it's roughly in the right place). Andorlini then prints καὶ ἄν, but κἂν is certain (this is rightly not submitted here as correction). What follows cannot be confirmed or denied (based on the image at least). The reading would have to be supported by parallels or a philological argument, but these aren't presented. I would accept και̣[ρὸ]ς ἄρτι ἄ[λλ]ός (better submitted as a single correction), but not the others. January 20, 2017 15:28

BGU 1 9 (BGU 1 9)  Vote AcceptText - iii.10 is giving a total of preceding entries. It should be encoded as follows: 10. [$m2 ((γίνονται)) ((δραχμαὶ)) .2]. Pap.Choix 19 (Pap.Choix 19)  Vote AcceptText - This looks to be right. Writer's iotas often have little hooks to the right at the bottom, as would be the case here too. For what it's worth, ed. pr.'s [τὴν προκειμένην(?)] is not likely; the scene of the crime was somewhere other than Karanis. June 22, 2020 22:20
SB 18 13320 (SB 18 13320)  Vote ReturnToSender - This correction relies on the assumption that the notary himself wrote the contract (rather than an assistant). The assumption is fair but needs some more support -- a quick look through Diethart / Worp, Notarsunterschriften did not reveal a direct statement on the matter. June 22, 2020 22:49

O.Ashm.Shelt. 42 (2020/08/10-07.36.44) (CdE 95 232)  Vote AcceptText - Fine with Mike's corrections. Editors have differed on whether to capitalize Περὶ Θήβας vel sim., but the DDBDP version should follow the editor, so no cap here, as Mike suggests. June 25, 2020 20:11
P.Fouad 51 (P.Fouad 51)  Vote ReturnToSender - Agreed that Δ̣ίου is hard to see. Tyrannos has a double name, so I'd consider Τυρά̣[ννου τ]οῦ καὶ̣ Ἰ̣σ̣ιδ̣ώ̣[ρου instead. At beginning of line, why unusual abbreviation ἀντ(ίγραφον)? ἀντίγρα(φον) preferable (but of course we can't know exactly how this likely supplement was written). Please remove superfluous <: :> in resubmission. June 25, 2020 20:46
P.Bingen 94 (P.Bingen 94)  Vote AcceptText - Ruth shared photo. Letters ατερζ of taxpayer's name are perfectly clear and don't need dots; rho of patronymic should be dotted. Note accent change to [δεκαπέ]ντε l. 4 June 26, 2020 21:59

P.Alex. 16 (P.Alex. 16)  Vote AcceptText - Corrections are good. The ed. pr. is sloppy with dots and brackets (e.g. μετόχοι πράκτορ(ες) is not perfectly clear in l. 2; not all of πράκτορ(σι) l. 12 is on papyrus). A few notes. 1: (ἔ̣τ̣ο̣υ̣ς̣) α̣, like l. 9. Not sure how ed. pr. got idea ἔτους was written out after year sign. 2: there’s a correction of some sort to end of διέγραψαν; in any case, regularize to διέγραψεν Πατῶμι μετόχοις πράκτορσι. 3: end of line has a pretty clear alpha with line over it, which is not compatible with ed. pr.'s reading (not sure what's happening, but perhaps ref. to 1st year here, despite τοῦ αὐτοῦ (ἔτους) in next line. 7: papyrus actually has δραχ\α/μς. 12: I'd print Μοῦ⟨ι⟩ς. Final letter is lunate like sigma of Σεουήρου. 22: φιλ for the first three dotted letters, possibly for Φιλ[ο(πάτορος)] again, although it doesn’t follow the formula from above. Note that ll. 9-21 contain payments for ca. 40 dr., so assuming that was for laographia, it’d make sense that a new receipt starts here. June 27, 2020 14:43
BGU 1 169 (BGU 1 169)  Vote AcceptText - Fine. σπ not missing, just Verschleifung -- other examples show ερ of σπερμ as slight undulation (e.g. https://berlpap.smb.museum/01906/), which in the present example is reduced to mere curved stroke b/t σ and ρ. June 27, 2020 16:20
P.Trier 1, 5 (P.Trier 1 5)  Vote Return-Straight-to-Sender - Illegible letters: Leiden needs period before number of letters, not just plain underdots. Gap in l. 2 before οὐλή should be [.?] b/c ed. doesn't specify length. Add hand changes (ll. 1-2 = hand 2; 3-26 = hand 1; 27-28 = hand 3). 17-18: enter regularization of ἀπειτηκότος; 26: ((τάλαντα)); 27: (ἔγκλ(ηµα)) July 03, 2020 14:58
P.Trier 1, 2 (P.Trier 1 2)  Vote AcceptText - Looks good. "Hand 1" in l. 1 is an implicit correction to the edition (which has "hand 2" here, but parallels suggest hand 1 was meant). In l. 4 ed. restores ὡς ἐγ (a common spelling) but elsewhere the "correct" ὡς ἐκ (correct implicitly to ὡς ἐκ?). 17: κληρωτωῖ is a mistake in edition: correct to κληρωτῶι. 39: genitive ((δραχμῶν)) needed. BGU 7 1636 (BGU 7 1636)  Vote Return-Straight-to-Sender - Thanks for the submission. δρα(γματηγίας) is preferred transcription, as by modern convention the sinusoidal abbreviation is generally transcribed as alpha when it represents alpha (e.g. στρα(τηγῷ), γρα(μματεῖ), etc.). I agree with the transcription σακ(κηγίας) over BL's σακκ̣η̣(γίας); the abbreviation seems to be by (slightly) raised kappa (there is a trace of ink above and to the right, but I don't think it's meaningful). It is good that you've referenced the BL in the correction. Before that, "digital image" instead of "from online photo." Also, make sure to avoid lunate sigmas in papyri.info. Upon resubmission, it would be helpful to enter the other BL corrections to the text, so it can be completely up-to-date and all the changes can be handled together. August 09, 2020 17:43

lund.apis.92 (SoSOL 2015 41)  Vote ReturnToSender - This text is well edited and a welcome addition. I offer a few points that the editor might wish to reconsider and for that reason have voted to return the text. A couple general points: TM identifιers should be cited following TM guidelines (https://www.trismegistos.org/about_how_to_cite.php), so “TM Nam” rather than “TM People #.” Second, except for case errors, I don’t think names, or at least non-Greek / uncommon names, should be “regularized" (see below on the name Krolis / Kloris / Klolis). Col. I: the figures at line end are ages, rather than amounts; 2: rho of Διοσκόρο̣υ clear; 4: [Δη]μ̣ητρ<ί>ου just needs the angle brackets (but maybe a bit bold iuxta lacunam); Ταύρεως: dot rho; 5: rather ]χθ( ), abbreviated passive part.? Then, δι(ὰ) προσγρά(φου) παραγεγρα( ), cf. https://papyri.info/ddbdp/c.pap.jud;3;516; 6: could χοιν- stand for χην-? Obviously not χοινοβοσκός though; 8: the name is rather Ταπετσωού̣κι̣ο̣ς (a variant listed under TM Nam 7731); 9: (ἐτῶν) ις at end; 10: (ἐτῶν) κ̣ε̣; 13: (ἐτῶν) ιε. Col. iii.3: the name Κρῶλις finds phonetic variants in the Petaus archive and elsewhere: cf. Κλῶρις (which is given as Neseus’ patronymic at P.Petaus 97.3, if the editors’ reading is right) and Κλῶλις (this is a good example of the fruitlessness of “regularizing” uncommon names); 4: looks like Ὡρεί̣ων (cf. l. 20, prob. also l. 9); 11: I find [ἔ]τους hard to see; maybe [ ] ̣ ἀρειθ(μ- ) (l. ἀριθμ- )?; 20: Ὡρείων. The editor has gotten a lot out of the difficult text on the back, and I don’t have anything to add. January 08, 2021 04:31

The editors think something's lost after ἀρτάβη in ll. 1 & 2 (I don't see their dotted letter in l. 1), but the entries below suggest otherwise. Chrest.Mitt. 63 (Chrest.Mitt. 63)  Vote Accept-Straight-to-Finalization - Finalizer, please note Mike's comments and the following: l. 3, change to diaeresis over Ἱβιτῶν (add extra space between τῆς and Ἱ(¨)βιτῶν); l. 5 P.Nekr. has ἐπὶ οὖν without correction in the app. crit., but the papyrus clearly has ἐπεί, as do previous editions, so this is probably a typo (I would silently correct to ἐπεὶ οὖν); 8, add diaeresis to ἴδιον; 9, add hyphen beginning of line; 11 mark καθ*apostrophe*εῖρξαν, προσάπτον|τες (remove space); 13 end ἀντ*apostrophe*εῖ; 16, remove extra space between πρὸς and τὸ; 16 not sure why voc. ἡγεμών is reg’d to ἡγεμόν, but it’s in the edition; 20-21, move hyphen from l. 20 to l. 21; 22, not sure how to mark it up, but I think the ed.’s ? is marking the φ of φ]ατίζοντας as questionable, not the the ca. 21 missing; 23 reg θλειβομένους to θλιβομένους (not in ed.); 24, remove space after .1, then should be [.5] instead of [.3]; 25, remove space in δι̣[καστ]η̣ρίου; 26, mark κατ’*apostrophe*; 29, remove space before and after the first *slanting-stroke* in both instances; 35 add period after line number June 26, 2021 19:55
SoSOL 2021 608 (ZPE 177 241)  Vote AcceptText - Finalizer, see Mike's comments. As for <:μεγαλαύχου (?)|reg|μεγελο̣υ̣χου〚ς〛:>, SoSOL does not seem to accept low certainty regs -- I've tagged the issue in GitHub. June 28, 2021 02:48
P.Mich. 10 585 (P.Mich. 10 585)  Vote AcceptText - Looks good. Finalizer, see Mike's comments and please remove space b/t ἑξήκοντα and comma in l. 21 June 28, 2021 19:26
P.Mich. 11 605 (P.Mich. 11 605)  Vote AcceptText - Fine. The words with angled brackets in ll. 17, 20, 23-24, and 24 should not be tagged as regs. The number tags in 5 and 20 are correctly entered according to "Number, no symbol," although I don't think we actively tag spelled out numbers any more. June 28, 2021 19:44
P.Mich. 3 187 (P.Mich. 3 187)  Vote AcceptText - Fine. Finalizer, please change the 28 of <:ἐμμένων27.- τι|reg|ἐνμένων28.- τει:> to 27. Omissions marked with angle brackets should not be tagged as regs (even if some of them would be reg'd nowadays rather than marked with angle brackets) June 28, 2021 20:17
P.Mich. 3 180 (P.Mich. 3 180)  Vote AcceptText - Fine. I don't think names need to be reg'd, except for egregious spellings and case errors (TM gives 475 examples of Δεῖος and it'd be a lot of busy work to "reg" them all for no real gain). New readings of abbrevs are right. Add Μεσ(ορὴ) --> Μεσο(ρὴ) in l. 1 . Source of new readings can just be (image) June 28, 2021 20:38

SB 4 7377 (2021/08/14-11.00.46) (SB 4 7377)  Vote AcceptText - The reg to γιγνώσκω is clearly wrong, but I don't think orthographic intervention is needed here, since elision of short vowel aspiration of stop before a rough breathing is standard Greek (even if most writers opted not to elide this phrase -- cf. however l. 160 of https://papyri.info/ddbdp/p.tebt;3.1;703, where again reg isn't necessary). Further, remove the reg tags from [διοικ]ητὴ<ς> and π[οι|ήσηις]. As for the comma, I generally favor reproducing punctuation as printed by the editor. June 30, 2021 15:21

P.Fouad 29 (committed)   added BL correction in l.11. Youtie hadn't seen an image, but reported that Coles confirmed the reading for him. The final nu can be compared with those of τὸν λόγον in l. 14. December 18, 2011 01:28
P.Corn. 7 (2014/07/02-19.20.29) (archived)   added corrections from BL 2.2 with some of my own from autopsy. The name Φαήρμ(ιος), attested only here, has been tentatively read as a form of the common name Φάησις. The ed.'s rho does not seem likely, since elsewhere the tail of rho comes straight down or has a slight hook (although cf. Τραιανοῦ, l. 14), and the ligature to the next letter seems to come from high on the letter, which is unlikely for rho, but fits sigma (cf. Σαμβαθίῳ l. 4) or epsilon. On the other hand, fitting σεω in after Φαη seems difficult, and it seems somewhat hazardous to suggest Φαή<σ>ε̣ω̣(ς) vel sim. when there's so much abrasion. The name Phaesis, however read, is perhaps guaranteed by the Tax Rolls, which have a Phaesis s. of Pekmeis (alias Heuremon) and Sambathion (P.Mich. IV.2, p. 244), who's also probably found in BGU 15 2498 (143/4?). This is likely the son of the Pekmeis in this document, who's acting as kyrios for his wife Sambathion. The other changes are minor; the app. crit. seems a bit overloaded when adding diaereseis, but they weren't in the original edition. If accepted, I'll add some short commentary. August 14, 2013 20:04
P.Corn. 7 (2014/07/02-19.20.29) (archived)   Resubmission. I have addressed the editors' comments by adding commentary to ll. 2 and 6 and have corrected Leiden errors. I was unable to add links in the commentary b/c of a bug (?): whenever I selected the volume, then volume number, all the fields would go grey and I couldn't selected an individual text. I tried this both through the DDB and HGV fields. September 16, 2013 19:42
P.Princ. 2 40 (committed)   corrected name in l. 3, added intro and commentary. Also added BL corrections already submitted by U. Gad. Links to texts in commentary are still not working for me (tried Chrome, Firefox, and IE). December 18, 2013 07:49
P.Mert. 2 62 (committed)   Added a correction of Youtie's found in Michigan's copy of P.Mert. II. He wrote beside the note to l. 5, "no! Papyrus has only τ." From the plate, one can see that the hasta of tau begins with a curved stroke, similar to that of τῆς at the end of the same line. This curved stroke, along with the horizontal of tau, are what the editors mistook for a theta. This correction can serve as test case for the thousands of hand-written corrections left by Youtie and others over the years. I have cited the correction by volume with "Michigan copy" added. SB 6 9128 (submitted)   added Millar and Youtie's corrections found at JEA 48 (1962), 127-128, including a different reading in l. 1 and a hand change in l. 6. Adjusted to the HGV "mentioned dates" to Caracalla's year 23 (they were year 22, even though "date" was already year 23). BL VIII, 339 can be disregarded. May 12, 2014 19:22
SB 16 12795 (submitted)   Dated text to Caracalla's reign on prosopographic grounds; added commentary identifying praktor. May 12, 2014 21:44
SB 16 12569 (committed)   I propose removing an unnecessary supplement in l. 1, which is justified in a commentary note. The supplement had been marked as Latin for some reason, so I removed this. I have not succeeded in making the square brackets continuous in l. 1. July 03, 2014 00:36
P.Chic.Haw. 6 (2014/10/13-16.29.17) (archived)   fixed typo in l. 3: Κρυπ̣ίδ[ο]υ̣ --> Κυρπ̣ίδ[ο]υ. The reading can be checked on the plate and is sound (one expects Κυπρίδου).Data Entry Error July 14, 2014 03:20

BGU 15 2478 (submitted)   Narrowed date range and added supplement to l. 1 based on ZPE 190 (2014), 199. Additionally, new readings are proposed in l. 3 based on the digital image. Editor's supplements in ll. 5 and 6 are subjectively framed as if this were a subscription, but we're in the body contract; they have thus been removed. October 31, 2015 20:47
BGU 15 2478 (submitted)   l. 1 supplement based on assignment of text to grapheion of Karanis according to ZPE 190 (2014), 199. I added the opening verb just after (plural because there are five acknowledging parties -- l. 3). After the verb there needs to at least be the name of the first party, so an unknown gap was added after the main verb (and the gap at beginning of l. 2 removed). The distribution across lines could of course be different. February 03, 2016 22:07

P.Mil. 1 7 (submitted)   corrected l. 15 from τῷ ἐμοῦ to the expected τῶι τοῦ, a normal use of the article before someone previously named. In l. 16, I suggest Εὐημ̣έ̣ρ̣[ο]υ̣ instead of the otherwise unattested Εὐηνείου. Translation entered as well. October 06, 2016 09:00

BGU 15 2503 (committed)   fixed typo l. 1 - ed. pr. gives year as κβ̣ (which looks right) not κγ̣ (HGV records reflect ed. pr.'s dating suggestions) January 24, 2017 22:05
BGU 15 2519 (committed)   entered BL correction (obvious fix to order of lines), corrected accent to Φανομγεύς l. 8, added small correction to article before papponym: this is a v-shaped tau with raised omicron, like so often in penthemeros certificates January 24, 2017 23:07
P.Gron. 1 (committed)   entered BL corrections, the most important of which is the dating to Pescennius Niger (earliest attest) -- this reading looks good (image: http://facsimile.ub.rug.nl/cdm/compoundobject/collection/papyri/id/37/show/34/rec/33), as do the new readings in ll. 1-2. The supplement of Niger's titulature produces longer line lengths than ed.pr. thought -- hence the extension of the gap. Ed.pr.'s supplements have been retained as useful, but marked with (?)s b/c they were based on his shorter line lengths. January 27, 2017 18:19

P.Mich. 5.241.13, 24, 25, etc. and discussion at Claytor, BASP 50, 88 and BASP 53, 143-144. For the quick writing of με, cf. l. 21. September 11, 2018 11:29

SoSOL 2019 526 (committed)   Entered metadata and text, along with Hagedorn's corrections. A couple issues: A) I couldn’t get the superlinear stroke over the lost numeral in l. 7 to work B) In l. 15 and 29, I don’t see the regularization of the ed.pr. reading (which is now superseded by Hagedorn’s correction): I would expect to see something like [σὺν] ἡμ̣ιολείας (l. ἡμιολίᾳ) prev. ed. in the note to l. 15. Related to this is a correction I tried to make to l. 27: <:ὡμολόγησεν=W.G. Claytor|ed|<:ὡμολόγησαν|reg|ὡμολόγησεν:>:>. What I’m trying to say is the editor’s regularization to ὡμολόγησαν is unnecessary (there’s a single acknowledging party, so verb should be singular, in agreement with ἐπε̣ρωτηθείς – not sure why editor changes it and there’s no comment). But when I enter this correction, the editor’s original regularization is not displayed. One sees only ^ 27. W.G. Claytor : ὡμολόγησεν prev. ed., which does not make clear what I am correcting. In the end, I just left the editor’s reg in there, even though it’s incorrect. July 20, 2019 08:59
P.Erl. 57 (committed)   corrected readings in ll. 3 and 4. For the same writing of σύ(μ)πα(ντι), cf. http://papyri.info/ddbdp/p.oxy;12;1447. In this text, the abbreviation stroke / raised upsilon over sigma ligatures into pi, giving appearance of ed. pr.'s kappa October 30, 2019 23:27
BASP 50 89 (2020/07/28-18.55.11) (archived)   Was hoping to get all of Hagedorn's corrections from ZPE 192, but Leiden stopped loading...not sure what to do, so just submitting. In line 1, added [.?] after ἑτους; added omitted Γερμανικοῦ [.?]; reg’d γραφίου; reg'd ἔχιν and τειμήν throughout where missing November 02, 2019 00:39
P.Oxy. 10 1281 (committed)   Correction made from image (http://www.bl.uk/manuscripts/FullDisplay.aspx?ref=Papyrus_2439) and line of commentary added. I tried adding the PN link in the commentary, but the volumes of P.Oxy. were not populating. April 20, 2020 00:15

P.Monts.Roca 4 66 (committed)   Entered Hagedorn's corrections in ZPE 215. In the the correction to ll. 20-21, H. prints βοήθειαν (or ἀντίληψιν), but a genitive is needed with the preceding τευξόμεθα τῆς; this has been tacitly corrected. Also, I can't get the |alt| reading to appear in the preview June 22, 2020 22:03
BGU 15 2478 (submitted)   Submitting again. L. 3 is new reading from digital image. L. 5 supplement ὁμολογοῦμεν removed b/c we're in the body contract, where objective styling is expected. Likewise, supplement [τὸ ὑπάρχον ἡμ]ῖ̣ν is subjective -- instead, I read ]ο̣ν, prob the end of an adjective such as πατρικόν, μητρικόν, or κοινωνικόν June 23, 2020 04:57
BGU 3 879 (committed)   added published correction. Image clearly shows raised omega, as noted (https://berlpap.smb.museum/02148/). Is there a way to get rid of the second "prev. ed."? June 23, 2020 17:09
SoSOL 2020 420 (committed)   Entered metadata and text from ed. pr. The ed. pr. is obviously substandard, and I therefore included most of the alternative readings cited in the ed. pr. NB: the edition on p. 96 uses brackets differently from standard practice; the diplomatic transcription and comparison with the image make it clear that these are uncertain not lost letters June 25, 2020 20:03
Chrest.Mitt. 373 (committed)   Added further BL 8.19 correction to ll. 2-3. Removed "cf." from other BL corrections as unnecessary. Did not enter BL 8.19 πρινκε[π]ίοι[ς] --> πρινκι̣[π]ίοι[ς] b/c, while poss. to read with iota, correction doesn't take into account trace after purported iota (if correction is made, it would have to be πρινκι̣π̣ίοι[ς]) June 27, 2020 15:57

BGU 4 1082 (committed)   Corrections from digital image. Παπτηβε is certainly possible palaeographically, but Παντηβε has etymological support (related to TM Nam 732, etc.); for form of nu, cf. Ἀπφυνχίῳ (corrected) and first nu of ἐννάτης. L. 7 Πεττ̣ιρίῳ has apostrophe separating taus (don't think this can be represented in PN). At end, ed.'s κύριοι looks a lot like κυρίου but perhaps better read as κύριε (despite two addressees)...I've left that reading alone, however July 12, 2020 06:24
P.Princ. 3 157 (committed)   Two corrections from image. Exact form Παντηβε not attested but related to TM Nam 732 etc. Only other example of Παπτηβε is http://papyri.info/ddbdp/bgu;4;1082, where I also think Παντηβε is written (PN correction submitted) July 12, 2020 06:25

SoSOL 2020 616 (submitted)   Entered metadata, text, trans. A few things: 1) I named the document divisions "Sheet A, Sheet B," etc., following the edition; 2) I couldn't get the "(?)" to appear at Sheet A, l. 6 and Sheet D, l. 1, both times marking the partial supplement as uncertain; 3) I put the following note in the metadata under Bemerkungen: "Gehört möglicherweise zu derselben Rolle wie Tyche 33 (2018) S. 53 (P.Mich. inv. 3490b)." I noticed TM didn't have a reference of this sort, but there should be some cross-reference b/t the pieces, so they are completely separated digitally. I suppose the reference can be replaced with the SB number once that's assigned. August 10, 2020 18:03

Ed. argues οὐλῆι should be taken at face value as dative -- I've followed ed.'s interpretation, even though this would normally be taken as superfluous iota adscript. August 11, 2020 20:22

SB 28 16904 (committed)   Added a prosopographical note. The link I added is not working in preview: for some reason, the colon after https in the URL gets removed when the links is clicked (known bug? I feel like I've had similar problems with commentary links) December 04, 2020 21:30
P.Berl.Zill. 5 (committed)   just corrected typo in l. 17, adding space after "17." (preview still messed up) December 29, 2020 04:16
BGU 3 918 (editing)   corrections from the image (the dupl. SB XVI 13006-7 provides best parallels). A few minor issues: 2, preview closes bracket after [παρὰ]; 9, tried adding <:ᾗ|subst|.3:> but it didn’t display correctly within my correction; commentary, I'm still having issues with PN links (volumes / texts don't show up in drop-down menu) December 29, 2020 06:17

P.Lond. 2 443 (committed)   A couple straightforward changes, including elimination of a ghost name. I had a go at l. 1, where perhaps [Πο]λ̣υ̣δε[υ]κί(ας) should be read (Σ̣ε̣ν̣θ̣(ρεμπάει) vel sim. would then be likely for the wiped out word), but I'm not sure and have left the text alone. January 03, 2021 22:07
P.Lond. 2 166A (committed)   BL corrections January 08, 2021 17:47
P.Lond. 2 154 (submitted)   Some cleaning up and corrections. First, corrections: in general, I tried to combine them into as few blocks as possible, but feel free to reallocate. I have not changed every little bracket or abbreviation to conform to modern editions (e.g. κ(αί) --> καί), as this would severely overload the apparatus. Reading notes: οὐλή is abbreviated, as often, with a line over omicron; for the ἀριστερός symbol, see BASP 50, p. 88; Herakleides looks to have two scars in l. 1 (only one in the body text), the second beginning χ (neither χειρί nor χείλει, however spelled, looked convincing); καρπ( ) is written καρ) with curved pi raised; the abbrev. μετὰ κ(υρίου) with raised kappa is common (same kappa is found in Ἡρακ( ), passim, which I changed for the sake of consistency). Also added one note of comm. Housekeeping: Fixed line numbering error where end of l. 26 was made to be l. 27 and renumbered accordingly. Accents: corrected to ποδεί, l. 3; added accent to νότον l. 6; βασιλικῆι, αὐλῆι l. 8; Ἡράκλε̣ι̣τος instead of Ἡρακλε̣ί̣τος, l. 18 (that’s indeed what scribe wrote, not Ἡρακλείτης – I’ve left ed.’s tentative dots even though ει is clear). BL: fixed Wilcken’s correction in l. 1, which BL 1.259 reported incorrectly; added BL attribution to l. 7 (and left the ξ dotted b/c only traces remain), l. 16, l. 17. Incorrection expansions / transcription: l. 16 ὑποτιθ(εμένην) --> ὑποτιθ(έντας); ἐξαλλοτριω(μένην) --> ἐξαλλοτριο(ύντας); l. 24 ἀπηλιώ[τ(ην)] --> ἀπηλιώ[τ(ου)] (the papyrus itself has ἀπηλιότου, as in l. 21, which I’ve corrected). Added reg τε --> δέ in l. 25, πρόκιται --> πρόκειται, l. 27. January 08, 2021 20:26
P.Hamb. 1 43 (committed)   correction to l. 11: it's the village Hiera (Nesos), not a nickname for Serenus January 09, 2021 19:44
BGU 3 823 (committed)   consolidated BL corrections in l. 1 and ll. 2-3 (and fixed l. 1 supplement, which Wilcken intended to fill out the line); added printed correction to end of l. 3 and two minor PN corrections to ll. 2 and 11, where both supplements must fill out the line beginnings January 20, 2021 02:43
BGU 2 666 (committed)   added printed corrections to ll. 1-2, 3, 4, and 14. I did not change the bracketed missing letters, which seem to dutifully follow the number of dots in the BGU edition, but perhaps all are better changed to [.?] January 20, 2021 03:11
Chrest.Mitt. 116 (committed)   added a couple printed corrections January 20, 2021 03:19
SoSOL 2021 49 (2021/05/14-11.40.05) (archived)   entered text and metadata of new edition, TM 111086 (should be named ZPE 217 160) January 28, 2021 23:01

Chrest.Wilck. 382 (committed)   Entered published corrections. Maybe there's a better way to enter the alt readings in ll. 6-7 May 17, 2021 18:16
SB 14 11877 (2021/05/20-13.55.01) (archived)   minor BL correction to ll. 4-5 (to Berlin part of text, not taken up in re-edition), correction reaffirmed in ZPE 218 May 17, 2021 18:22

P.Berl.Cohen 8 (committed)   Entered re-edition of text in APF 61, along with further corrections in APF 66. Metadata changed accordingly. Text needs to be renamed. May 20, 2021 18:26
P.Gen.2 1 66 (submitted)   Added printed corrections to ll. 6, 9, 15, and 17, and updated metadata: date changed, archive name updated, and TM Arch number added. May 28, 2021 17:09
P.Gen.2 1 70 (submitted)   Added printed correction to l. 10 and updated metadata (date and note fields; archive name updated and TM Arch number added) May 28, 2021 17:26
P.Gen.2 1 67 (submitted)   Added printed correction to ll. 8,19, 21 and updated metadata (date and note fields; archive name updated and TM Arch number added). For the reg in l. 19, I couldn't figure out how to tag alternative regs. I want to say that the pap.'s γραμματιον could be read as γραμματεῖον or γραμάττιον. I tried <:γραμματεῖον|γραμμάτιον||reg||γραμματ[ι]ον̣:>, but that displays as "l. γραμμάτιον, i.e. γραμματεῖον," where instead of "i.e" I expected (or rather hoped for) "or." Adding "alt" between the first two regs alternatives doesn't help. In the end, I just entered one reg. May 28, 2021 18:02
P.Gen.2 1 68 (submitted)   Added printed correction to ll. 9, 17, 18 and updated metadata (date and note fields; archive name updated and TM Arch number added). May 28, 2021 18:21
P.Gen.2 1 12 (submitted)   Added printed correction to ll. 2, 19-20, 26 and updated metadata (archive name). In l. 2, reg of original editor's reading not displaying. In l. 26, reg not displaying. Wrapping error in l. 14. May 28, 2021 18:43
P.Gen.2 1 69 (submitted)   Added printed correction to ll. 2, 4, 14 and updated metadata (date and note fields; archive name updated and TM Arch number added) May 28, 2021 18:56
P.Giss.Univ. 1 14 (committed)   Entered BL and two PN corrections. In l. 15, BL 10.79 and 11.84 are cited together because the latter just corrects the expansion and accents of the former. The PN corrections are based on well-established formulas (for another census declaration written by a nomographos, see e.g. https://papyri.info/ddbdp/p.mich;3;178) June 01, 2021 23:05
P.Berl.Leihg. 1 16a (committed)   BL and PN corrections. There are numerous parallels for the nomographos / grapheion writing declarations. For the precise formula (here, minus εἰκ(ονίσθη)) cf. the end of https://papyri.info/ddbdp/p.berl.leihg;2;29 June 01, 2021 23:35

P.Lond. 2 376 (committed)   PN correction to name at end of l. 1. Iota is better than ed.'s epsilon, then final string could be read either ν or το, but ν looks better and leads to known name. It's possible that a tiny omicron marking abbrev. is lost at right. June 02, 2021 21:25
CPR 1 11 (committed)   entered BL 13 to ll. 24, 26, 32-33, 33-34, 36-37, 40 and verso; attributed the BL in l. 9 (same correction made independently in BL 1 and 2.2). BL 1.112 on l. 7 just affirms ed. pr.'s αὐλῆ[ς], as opposed to αὐλ[ὴ] June 04, 2021 16:40
P.Gen. 2 113 (committed)   Added print correction to ll. 4-5 June 09, 2021 23:36

Did not add BL 12.77 to l. 8 κατάλαβ[ε σο]ῦ (which would mean following τὸν τόπον is correct) --> seems right in sense but I see omicron after lacuna rather than upsilon January 13, 2021 17:35
