Condition A middle-brown papyrus, neatly cut off at the top and right-hand side. At the top there is a margin left of 1.5 to 2 cm., at the left-hand side one of approx. 2 cm.; at the right, where the lines slope slightly upwards, the lines are filled up to the very edge by enlarging the last letter.

Hands The text runs parallel to the fibers. The large, clearly legible letters in deep black ink bespeak a well-trained hand.

APIS Translation (English)

Aurelius Potamon, son of Pecherous, his mother bing Taopis from the town of Bubastis greets Aurelius Sarapion, son of Heron, his mother being Tachairinon from the town of Oxyrhynchos. I declare having exchanged with my female, mouse-colored donkey still being a foal and having also received from you at the same time a she-ass, white, adult, in foal, hindered by a mark on the right eye and I have received from you the eighty silver drachmas, which my she-ass was estimated to be worth more. It is written double and we have asked each other the question and we have both consented. In the year 2 of Imperator Caesar Gaius Julius Verus Maximinus Pius Felix Augustus and Gaius Julius Verus Maximus, the most holy Caesar Augustus, son of Augustus, 30 Payni.
