ἀντίγραφον. Θέωνι ἀρχιδικα[στ]ῆι καὶ πρὸς τῇ ἐπιμελε[ί]ᾳ τ[ῶ]ν χρη[μα]τιστῶν καὶ τῶν ἄλλων κριτηρίων
παρὰ Ἀμμωναρί[ο]υ τῆς Ἀμμω[νί]ου τοῦ Διονυσίου, ὡς ἐν [Πτο]λεμαίδι τῆς Ἑρμίου χρηματί[ζ]ει, ἀ[σ]τῆς(*) καὶ τῆς ταύτης
[θ]υ̣[γ]ατρὸς Ὠφε[λοῦτ]ος τῆς Ἡρακλᾶτος τῶν ἀπʼ Ὀξυρύγχων πόλεως, μετὰ κυρίο[υ] τῶν δύ[ο] γυναικῶν τ[ο]ῦ τῆς
[Ἀμμων]αρίου ὁμ[ομ]ητρίου ἀδ[ε]λφοῦ Βησαρί[ω]νος τοῦ Ἡρ[ᾶτο]ς, ὡς ἐν τῆι αὐτῇ Πτολε[μ]αίδι χρηματίζει,
5[καὶ παρὰ Γα(?)]ί̣ου Κ[λαυδί(?)]ο̣υ̣(?)(*) Ἀντιφάν[ο]υς τοῦ Ἀμμωνί̣[ου τ]ῶ̣ν̣ [ἀπὸ] τῆς αὐτῆς Ὀξυρύγχων πόλ[ε]ως. συνχωροῦμεν
[πρὸς ἀλλήλο]υς ἐπὶ τοῖσδε, ὥστε εἶναι ἡ̣ [Ἀμμωνάριο]ν [καὶ] ἡ Ὠφελοὺς εὐπιθεῖς γεγονυῖαι καὶ ἀπεσχηκυῖαι
[παρὰ τοῦ Ἀντ]ιφάνους διὰ χειρὸς [ἐ]ξ οἴκου ὃ καὶ ἐπε[ίσθη]σαν κεφάλαιον, ἡ μὲν Ἀμμωνάριον ἀνθʼ ἧς προσ-
[ηνέγκατο τ]ῷ̣ τοῦ μὲν Ἀντιφάνους πατρὸς ἀδελφ[οῦ] δετῆς(*) Ὠφελο[ῦ]τος πατρὶ ἑ̣[αυ]τῆς δ̣ὲ̣ γενομένωι
καὶ [μετηλλ]αχότι ἀνδρὶ Ἡρακλᾶτι Ἀντιφάνους τῶ[ν] ἀπὸ τῆς αὐτῆς Ὀξυρύγχων πόλεως φ[ε]ρν[ῆ]ς

ἐν τοῖς ἔμπ[ρο]σθεν χρόνοις, ἡ δὲ Ὠφελοῦς καὶ αὐ[τη]ι̣(*) ἐξέσταται τῶι Ἀντιφάνει τοῦ κατʼ αὐτὴν μ[έ]ρους
τῶν ὑπὸ τοῦ μετηλλαχότος αὐτῆς πατρὸς Ἡρακλᾶτος ἀπολελιμμένων(*) πάντων, καὶ εἶναι ἄκυρον
[τ]ὴν δηλουμένην τοῦ γάμου συγχώρησιν κ[αὶ μη]δεμίαν τῆι Ἀμμωναρίωι καὶ τῆι Ὠφελοῦτι μηδʼ ἄλλωι
ὑπὲρ αὐτῶν καταλίπεσθαι(*) ἔφ[ο]δον ἐπὶ τὸν Ἀντιφάν[η] μηδὲ ἐπὶ τὰ τοῦ Ἡρακλᾶτος ἀπολελιμμένα(*),
15[τῇ] μὲν Ἀμμ[ω]νάριον(*) μήτε περὶ τῆς διευλυτημένης φερνῆς, ῇ(*) δὲ Ὠφέλους(*) μήτε περὶ τῶν
[ἐξε]σταμένων καθὼς πρόκειτα[ι, ἀμ]φοτέροις(*) δ̣ὲ περὶ ἄλλου μηδενὸς ἁπλῶς ἐνγράπτου
ἢ ἀγράφου πράγματος τῶν ἐκ τῶν ἐπάνω χ̣ρ[ό]ν̣ων μέχρι τῆς ἐνεστώσης ἡμέρας, ἢ τὴν
ἐσομένην ἔφ[ο]δον ἄκυρον καὶ(*) πρόσδεκτον(*) ὑπάρχειν. ἐν δὲ τοῖς προκειμένοις οὐκ ἔνεστι σωματ(ισμός)·
ἀξιοῦμεν ὡς καθήκ[ε]ι. (ἔτους) δ Νέρωνος Κλαυδίου Κ[αί]σαρ[ο]ς Σεβαστοῦ Γερμανικοῦ Αὐτοκράτορος, μη(νὸς) Νερωνείου

(Translation: from P.Oxy. 2) Copy. To Theon, chief justice and superintendent of the chrematistae and the other courts, from Ammonarion, daughter of Ammonius, son of Dionysius, and however else she is described at Ptolemais Hermiu, and from her daughter Ophelous, whose father is Heraclas, of Oxyrhynchus, the two women acting with their guardian, the half brother of Ammonarion on the mother’s side, Besarion, son of Heras, and however else he is described at Ptolemais, and from ... Antiphanes, son of Ammonius, of the said city of Oxyrhynchus. We agree with each other as follows :— Ammonarion and Ophelous have given their consent and have received from Antiphanes from hand to hand in cash the sum which they severally consented to accept, Ammonarion, on account of the dowry, amounting to 800 silver drachmae, which she brought to her late husband, the brother of Antiphanes’ father and the father of Ophelous, Heraclas, son of Antiphanes, of the same city of Oxyrhynchus, in accordance with a settlement completed some time ago through the daybook, and Ophelous on her part resigns to Antiphanes her share of all the property left by her late father Heraclas. The said agreement of marriage is void, and neither Ammonarion nor Ophelous nor any one acting on their behalf has any further claim against Antiphanes or against the property left by Heraclas, Ammonarion on account of the refunded dowry, and Ophelous on account of the resigned inheritance, as is aforesaid; and neither of them has any claim respecting any other matter whatever written or unwritten of past date down to the present day, and any claim that is made shall be void and inadmissible. The above agreement has no ..., for which we make due petition. (Date.)
