- 2023-01-06T10:39:00-05:00 [berkes.lajos]: Submit - I have added a new reading to line 2: χωρὶς (τεταρτίων), 'without tetartia.'
Tetartia is the name of an obscure tax, which is well attested in this period. The
same phrase probably occurs in the Hermopolite tax receipt P.Lond. V 1739, 3, cf.
N. Gonis, Reconsidering Some Fiscal Documents from Early Islamic Egypt III, ZPE 169
(2009) 199/n. 2. The same abbreviation is amply attested in contemporary Arsinoite
receipts, but with the preposition syn, cf. e.g. https://papyri.info/ddbdp/stud.pal;3;675/
line 3 (the same abbreviation: two deltas with strokes; image available online).
