I undertake of my own free will to lease from the first day of the next month Thoth of the present reign and the 13th indiction, the hall belonging to you in the house called ... which is in the said city of Oxyrhynchus in the quarter of the Cobblers’ Market, complete with all its appurtenances, and I will pay you for rent 2,400 myriads of silver yearly, and I will perforce pay the rent with no delay, and whenever you wish I will hand over to you the hall in a clean state. This lease, of which a single copy is made, is valid, and in answer to the question I have given my consent.
