- 2020-07-09T19:31:22-04:00 [ngonis]: Finalized - Ready.
- 2020-07-03T05:10:24-04:00 [ngonis]: Vote - AcceptText - Agreed. Omega doesn't need to be dotted. — [τὴν προκειμένην(?)]
is surely wrong (after κώμην, we expect the name of a village), but it can stay for
now.
- 2020-06-22T18:20:28-04:00 [gclaytor]: Vote - AcceptText - This looks to be right. Writer's iotas often have little hooks
to the right at the bottom, as would be the case here too. For what it's worth, ed.
pr.'s [τὴν προκειμένην(?)] is not likely; the scene of the crime was somewhere other
than Karanis.
- 2020-06-20T13:31:23-04:00 [mgelmaghrabi]: Submit - I Suggest a correction to line 8 for the hapax [ὑπὲ]ρ̣ κώμην to [πε]ρ̣ὶ ...,
in the digital image it seems that the fragment was not aligned and part of the omega
was lost, should the omega be dotted?

APIS Translation (English)
To Aurelius Valerianus, centurion, from Satyros, son of Maron, of the town Karanis
in the Herakleides district. The night before today, which is the 18th, all my fine
acacia trees were set fire to, on the oil plantation I have above the said town, so
that as a consequence of this I have suffered a not insubstantial loss, but by whose
hands, I do not know. Therefore I necessarily hand over this, making it clear to you,
so that it shall hold good when the culprits turn up. Farewell. Satyros delivered
(this). In the 20th year of Marcus Aurelius Severus Antoninus Parthicus Maximus Britannicus
Maximus Pius Augustus, 19. Mesore.
