- 2024-03-08T05:38:27-05:00 [ngonis]: Finalized - done
- 2024-02-08T13:13:48-05:00 [costasbala]: General - I absolutely agree. Ἀδελφὸν in l. 10 is a typo, I didn't notice. For Ἀφυχίω
on the verso, of course N. Gonis is right. I think he should be credited for the observation
on the gamma. For ωι, I don't insist. This peculiar way to write omegas, seemingly
resembling or originating from an original ωι, is found in other πpapyri too. So,
please disregard my note. For μεταμελήσῃς in l. 20, I'll send you an edited image
to show how I see sigma, which I think is there. There is a correction by the scribe,
even a possible μεταμελί̣σῃς. I think I was too fixated on seeing an eta.
- 2024-02-08T10:39:01-05:00 [simoeis]: Vote - Accept-Straight-to-Finalization - The ed.pr. has ἀδελφὼν, not ἀδελφὸν in line
10, thus Balamoshev's reading should not really be a PN correction, though the |reg|
is needed. I'm not entirely convinced of the iota adscript on the verso (if there,
then also on the preceding ἀδελφῷ?), but the discrepancy with the ed.pr., which has
Ἀφυγχίῳ, seems to (or should) revolve around the gamma (see Gonis's remarks).
- 2024-01-14T15:45:38-05:00 [ngonis]: Vote - AcceptText - The new readings in lines 9 and 10 are fine. In lin19, μεταμελή̣σῃς
carries a lot of conviction; I cannot rule out that sigma was omitted by mistake.
Something only for the apparatus (at best). In lin22 I suppose the new reading is
Ἀφυχίωι, replacing ed.'s Ἀφυγχίωι; |reg| needed in that case. In lin16, add accents
to the irregular readings.
- 2024-01-14T13:43:33-05:00 [costasbala]: Submit - Corrections and BL 7 integration.
In line 16, I've used a joint ταβασκατα (reg. to τὰ ἀβάσκαντα) instead
of the angle brackets < >, which give a false impression of the author's intention.
In fact, it should be τ᾽ἀβάσκατα (l. τ᾽ ἀβάσκαντα) or τἀβάσκατα (l. τἀβάσκαντα). This
is a general phenomenon of how texts are printed. I've also noticed the same with
the final sigma-initial sigma cases. In l. 16 a BL 7 correction: Ἐλευθερα => ἐλευθέρα.
In line 16, I've used a joint ταβασκατα (reg. to τὰ ἀβάσκαντα) instead
of the angle brackets < >, which give a false impression of the author's intention.

APIS Translation (English)
Cyra and Aia to their lord and brother Apynchios, very many greetings. Put all things
aside and come immediately to us because our mother has died and we badly need your
presence. Therefore, please, do not stay at your place but come to us or we shall
ruin our household. You yourself know that we cannot do anything (without you. Eagerly
we wait) your presence. For that reason we have also sent our brother Martyrios so
that you may come immediately to us with him. We must be very grateful to him because
he undertook the trouble of the journey to you although we paid the expenses. We greet
our sister, your wife, and her children -may the evil eye not touch them - and through
many years. Do not neglect it and feel repentance afterwards. Come immediately to
us so that you may arrange everything.;verso: Deliver to our lord and brother Aphynchios
from Kyra and Aia.
