- 2021-03-26T08:29:58-04:00 [james.cowey]: Finalized - Ready.
- 2021-03-23T11:56:23-04:00 [james.cowey]: General - W. Clarysse noted further inaccuracies: "Notice also the printing error
εντυμου for ενθυμου[ in fragment B2. In fragm. A2 l.3 I would start a new sentence
(see the space) with ὅθεν, ; and in l.2 οὔκ does not need an accent and in l.4 I see
ἐπεστ[ειλα or sim.; in fragm B1 l.3 not εγρεγ, but εγεγρ[αφειν] or sim., though a
plusquamperfect does not go well after εαν."
- 2021-03-23T11:55:14-04:00 [james.cowey]: General - W. Clarysse answered as follows: "I have great doubts about the proposal,
first of all because I donot really see the end of line ]ης. This would be a hig-rising
eta slightly turning to the right (as is common in the second century BC), whereas
iun this text eta is low, the first leg rising a little bit to the left! i rather
see ]ντο, withn rising ny (as in the line above), though even ny in this hand does
not normally rise. In l.4 ]γράφεισ Θράσυλλος does not make sense : two subjects, one
second person immediately followed by a third person. I think we should read something
like [κάθοτι] γράφει ὁ Θράσυλλος (parallels in papyri.info, for the dioiketes and
other important people: “do it as mr. NN orders (by letter)”. I think Thrasuyllos
is the last word of the line and then his letter with the order follows. And how to
expand ὑπε.[? the most common is ὑπογράφει, but that does not work here, neither does
ὑπεγ[ραψεν]. The damaged letter looks like my! Without solution for this supplement
the proposal remains highly doubtful to me."
- 2021-03-23T11:24:01-04:00 [james.cowey]: Vote - Accept-Straight-to-Finalization - I have a few remaining doubts. I printed
out the two fragments and cut the prints so that I could test the alignment of the
fragments. In my opinion if you align ῆς with the beginning of the line τῆς παρὰ τ
even allowing for slight curvature of the line (probably vaguely upwards - this is
not sure by any means, the line may have remained quite straight) the aligning of
the other two lines with the ends of lines 3 and 4 is not attractive. Those letters
do not fit the supposed level of the lines but land between them. Or the ny would
possibly be better at the end of line 4 and not three. That would make it necessary
to posit a shorter line between lines 4-5. Some sort of greetings at the end of the
letter of which we have the end in lines 1-4 is conceivable, but what do we think
of with the letters ]τα at the end of the line. I feel unsure, but think I would almost
prefer to leave the presentation as it is just now. Maybe give fragment B1 a column
1 and 2 and leave the comment as it is. Have written to W. Clarysse to ask for an
opinion.
- 2020-07-30T16:08:37-04:00 [Mike%20Sampson]: Vote - DEFER - This also looks fine to me, but the document division will need to
be updated so that col. i comes from fr. A1+B1. NB that there is currently a commentary
note to the same effect as the proposed adjustment, which becomes unnecessary if we
endorse the join. Lastly, if the join is accepted, then it seems likely that only
two lines are missing at the top of column i, since B1 includes the top margin above
col. ii. That change should also be reviewed.
- 2020-06-22T12:58:35-04:00 [gclaytor]: Vote - AcceptText - looks good
- 2019-11-12T10:19:10-05:00 [giuditta%20mirizio]: Submit - Fragment A1, l. 6: corrected the text according to the possibile joining
of fragment a1 with fragment b1: τῆς παρὰ τ[οῦ δεῖνος γραφείσης ἐπιστολ]ῆς.
- 2019-02-07T17:02:23-05:00 [james.cowey]: Finalized - Ready.
- 2019-02-07T06:19:38-05:00 [james.cowey]: Vote - Accept-Straight-to-Finalization - Fine. The addition of the line ends to lins3,
4 and 6 in Col. 1 Fragm. A seems a reasonable working solution for now.
- 2019-02-06T10:56:00-05:00 [NicoleDiFlorio]: Submit - Testo inserito all'edizione. Le lettere iniziali dei rr. 3,4,6 del frammento
b1 sono state poste ai corrispondenti rr. del frammento a1 in posizione finale.
